Classification Marker (CM) is our base product. Information cannot be properly secured until it has been properly valued (classified) and properly marked. CM assists classifiers of documents to make proper portion and/or document classification marks ensuring that all documents are value our base product. Information cannot be properly secured until it has been properly valued (classified) and properly marked. CM assists classifiers of documents to make proper classifications and proper document classification marks. and ensures that all documents are value assessed.

CM currently works with a suite of MicrosoftTM products – Word, Power Point, Excel and Outlook

The pre-configured CM classification regime is very rigorous. Depending on the version, CM comes preloaded with the CAPCO National Security Authorized Classification and Control Register or the National Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI) register for sensitive information. Either security classification regime can be easily configured by the customer to establish unique classification and marking schemes and nomenclature.

CM minimizes human error in a complex document classification environment yet maintains individual user responsibility, a key requirement for proper classification and protection of documents/information.

CM - Classified (CM-C):

CM-C accomplishes proper classification by guiding the user through the document text portion by portion with an easy to use point and click interface that allows the user to select the appropriate classification for each portion. CM builds and embeds the appropriate portion mark as the user selects the classification level and various caveats or controls to apply to the information. If help is needed, the CM interface allows the user to bring up related classification guides or other security guidance for each classification mark in the classification regime. Among other features, CM-C also allows the user to mark individual portions as needed without processing the entire document.

Under the CM-C process all documents display a classification mark, even “working” documents or documents in development. CM-C initially inserts a pre-configured banner displaying the highest classification level for information on the network until all the portions in a document are properly assessed and marked via the CM-C interface. Once all portions have been assessed and marked by the classifier, CM automatically changes the interim banner mark to the appropriate classification mark as per the configured Classification Regime. CM applies the appropriate header and footer marks for the document and assures that the required classification block is complete and applied to the document.

CM-Sensitive (CM-S):

CM-S provides more user flexibility for sensitive information networks where the assurance of individual portion assessments and document portion marks as well as a classification block may not be required. CM-S can be configured to allow users to classify the document with an overall classification determination and mark. It can also be configured to require portion determination and marks to identify the specific document information that supports the overall document mark. CM-S can also be configured to provide a combination of both that is user selected and driven by information marking and security requirements of the organization.

CM-S maintains the same capability as CM-C for administrators to relate classification guidance documents to individual classification selections in the user interface for immediate user assistance and marking guidance.
